website design project

This is my first entry for this project. The project is too design a webpage about something you have learnt at school. The website will be entered into a website competition for tvnz.

This week I will be making my gantt chart in excel, and i will be writing up my brief. I will also be investigating different fonts, colours and pictures i could use for my website.
For homework i will be doing some thumbnail sketches in my visual diary.
I have already researched good webpage designs in CSS Zengarden last term.

Brief

I have written my brief with all the designs I am choosing to use for my leaflet, and all the various effects my pictures will have.

Gantt Chart

Visual diary

I have made two different concept designs for leaflets in my visual diary. I have yet to chose which design I want to use. This week i have learnt to use the pen tool in "InDesign" and how to put text on it, I have also learnt to do resolution to my pictures, which is changing the number of pixels from 72 to 300. This then creates a less pictulated picture(a clearer picture) for the leaflet. I will be using these methods in my designs for my leaflet.

Brief

I will be making a leaflet to alert teenagers of the dangers of drinking excessive alcohol.
The target audience is for people aged 15-24.
The leaflet will be a 3 fold booklet with information about the dangers and effects of alcohol on teens.
I will gather my information from books, magazines, internet, and email.
I will use images and other effects to appeal to teenagers.
A Gantt chart will be made to show my progress of this project.

Jess's blog thing

A blog is to be created for Jessikah Cassidy, as we have been asked to produce a blog showcasing their style, insterests and what inspires them to design. This blog is designed for readers of the design magazine that this blog will feature in.
